This final project is about sexual harassment movement. I have discussed and decided together with my friends about the topic. Sexual harassment happens commonly in Thailand. We have read news about this topic almost every day, so we agreed to research movement about sexual harassment. It is interesting, though also depressing at the same time. After researching, we found out that most people still blame the victim about dressing inappropriately, though the victim is the one who suffers. I think education is the key to solve this problem. It may take a long time, but I think it is worth it to make some changes. In Thailand, teachers mostly taught girls to dress appropriately, which appropriate means not to show much of your skin. If we change to taught everyone, no matter boys or girls, to control their actions and respect other people, the results may come out better than now. Also, people should know that the victim is not someone to blame because they did nothing wrong. Clothes are not the cause of sexual harassing. Everyone has rights to wear whatever they like. The best way to express who you are is through dressing, so why did people need to limit how other people dressed? There were many exhibitions about clothes that victims wear during the situation. All clothes showing are not sexy at all. It clearly shows that how people dress is not the main factor of sexual harassing. One of the main reason causing sexual harassing is the idea of "what is sexual harassment?". People in Thailand still has thoughts towards "sexual harassment" as physically touch people's body without permission, causing them to not aware of their words. As I have research, sexual harassing also includes commenting sexually and makes fun of other people appearance. Many people did not know about that, so they still harm others by their words continuously. Also, in Thai culture, elders mostly think that anything involved with sexual thing is perverted. Because of the culture, promoting sexual harassment to help in understanding is difficult in Thailand. However, misunderstanding can cause a bigger problem in society. It is depressing to know that many people become a victim of sexual harassment. From doing this project, I found out that there are many victims than I have thought, and most of them were harassed by who they trust. Movement about sexual harassment today get less and less attention from people. It should gain more support from us to prevent and get rid of this issue someday in the future. There should not be this kind of problem in society anymore.
